Fairbanks
Hospitality Industry

Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Fairbanks area.

Like most communities in the lesser traveled regions, where the populations are relatively small but loyal, Fairbanks also exhibits an unusual degree of human warmth and hospitality. Contrary to the popular view of central Alaska, where residents in the winter months occasionally put heaters on their car engines to keep them from cracking, Fairbanks is quite temperate and pleasant most of the year. Because of its remote location, the prices here are a little higher, commensurate with residents’ wages, but the quality of life enjoyed by a relatively small population justifies the extra cost. Fairbanks appeals both to sophisticated urban appetites as well as those of the most rugged outdoorsmen, and is about the best urban area in Alaska from which to view the Aurora Borealis. You will find a complete range of lodging options in Fairbanks, from world-class contemporary hotels in the downtown areas, to a variety of lodges near the many outdoor recreation areas, to historic family-run bed and breakfast inns throughout the area.
